Enhancing Tabb's Profile
Creation Journey
Tabb (tabb.cc) is a platform for people in film, theatre, and the creative industries to showcase their work, find collaborators, and connect with opportunities. Creatives like filmmakers and actors can build profiles to display their skills and availability, while producers and casting directors can use it to discover and recruit talent.
Recognising the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to simplify digital interactions, we improved Tabb’s clunky and time-consuming profile creation process. Using AI, users can now instantly generate a tailored profile, making onboarding quick, intuitive, and engaging while still capturing essential details for a personalised experience.

Challenge
When I joined the project, Tabb’s profile creation process felt clunky and outdated. It asked for too much information upfront and took users through far too many steps. This friction discouraged new users from completing their profiles and made onboarding feel more like a chore than an engaging experience.
Solution
To address this, I set out to redesign the flow with a focus on simplicity, speed, and engagement. By leveraging AI, users could now generate a complete profile instantly using just a link or digital footprint, drastically reducing the manual input required. To further support new members, I also proposed an interactive guided tour to help them navigate the platform with confidence.

profiles, with the majority abandoning the process altogether. Users also felt that much of the
work they uploaded was not accurately represented in the final profile. On a positive note, many
appreciated the overall layout and agreed it provided a clear and visually appealing way to
showcase their work.

Many described it as “time-consuming” and a distraction from their craft. This qualitative insight reinforced the need for an automated solution that reduces friction while still giving users control over how their professional identity is presented.

When I joined the project, Tabb’s profile creation process felt clunky and outdated. It asked for too much information up front and took users through far too many steps. My goal was to simplify the experience and make setting up a profile quick, easy, and engaging.
Solution
Solution
I designed a simplified process that lets users import their digital footprint from across the web with just one click. Their projects and work history are instantly displayed in Tabb’s format, beautifully organized. To make the experience even easier, I added an interactive tour guide to help users navigate and understand the platform.
